Regular price $39.00 Sale

This luxurious yarn is a DK weight blend of Alpaca/Linen/Silk (50%/25%/25%) in a generous 273 yards. The colors on this yarn come out a bit muted with a lovely heathered effect. Finished projects from this base are light, have a nice drape, and are warm without being too warm, giving the perfect temperature balance.

Cochineala beetle that lives on the prickly pear cactus. We have both a dark and lighter shade of cochineal available. The blend of cellulose and protein fibers in seduction make this an ideal yarn to dye with cochineal.

Dyer's Coreopsis - a flower that was grown and harvested in our own dyer's garden at Birch Point Farms in Leelanau County.

Goldenrod - harvested directly from Birch Point Farms in Leelanau County just before the buds fully bloomed (this gives us the most brilliant color!).

Goldenrod over-dyed with Indigo - Dyed first with Goldenrod harvested from Birch Point Farms in Leelanau County then over dyed with indigo giving this yarn a green/blue with lots of depth.

Indigo - Indigo is among the oldest dyes to be used for textile dyeing. We use a limited amount of locally grown indigo as well as commercially purchased indigo powder when creating our indigo vats.

*Natural and Botanical dyeing is a labor of love for us; the colors are dependent on many characteristics of the soil, season, and timing. We are unable to dye at a production level with the natural dyes and instead will make available the bounty of each season as we create it.
